Faith Formation

Taunton Catholic North Faith Formation.
One of the goals of the original Collaborative Pastoral Plan was to develop a single Faith Formation program for Taunton Catholic North. Despite the pandemic, this was done in the Fall of 2020. We no longer have a faith formation program for each individual parish, but a single program for Taunton Catholic North.
 
Classes are held both at St. Anthony Parish Center and at St. Jude depending upon the grade. Grades 1-6 are based at St. Anthony and Grades 7-9 at St. Jude.

Faith Formation Office 
The main Faith Formation Office is located at St. Anthony Parish Center. Jane Santos has office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to noon.

Faith Formation for 2023-2024: A Brief Overview

Grades 1 through 6 (Sophia Institutes A FAMILY OF FAITH) will have Faith Formation on Sunday mornings TWICE A MONTH at the
St. Anthony Parish Center. Families will attend the 9am Mass on class days followed by class from 10am to 11:15am.
As usual, those preparing for 1st Eucharist in Grade 2 will have additional classes during the year. There will also be ONE Saturday class for this group on December 2nd from 9-10:15am due to the city Christmas parade on Sunday December 3rd.

​Grades 7 & 8 (Alpha for Youth) will have Faith Formation on Sunday afternoons at the St. Jude Church Hall.  Families will attend the 4:55 PM Mass on class days followed by class from until 7:35.  The first day of class is Sunday September 17th. 

Grade 9/Confirmation (Purpose program) will now have class on Sundays at St. Jude.   Families will attend the 4:55 PM Mass on class days followed by class until 7:35. The first day of class is Sunday September 17th. 

Some points to note:

1. Grades 1-6 will meet on opposite Sundays from Grades 7-9*, in order to prevent you from having to be in two places at the same time. (the only exception is Sunday, Sept. 24th)
2. Mass attendance for all in Faith Formation is a requirement, but on the Sundays when your child does not have class, feel free to go to whichever Mass is convenient for your family. 
3. Every grade is scheduled to participate in a retreat day and a Safe Environment lesson this year, with the upper grades continuing to be involved in community service. ​

REGISTRATION
Faith Formation registration begins ONLINE for 2022-23 on July 7th and fees for this year are as follows:
                        One child -- $50          Two children -- $80        Three of more children -- $99
 
For 1st Eucharist and Confirmation, a small additional fee will be collected later in the year. All fees are used to defray the costs of the program and are in line with other parishes around us. If any family finds the fees too much of a hardship and needs relief, please speak with Fr. Fred, Jane Santos (Grades 1-6 Coordinator) or Beth Hoye (Grades 7-9 Coordinator) before registering.
